How to Request Troops, Spells and Siege Machines in Clash of Clans

A useful donation request says what you need, what the army is for, and when you expect to attack. Select the actual units in the game, then use the message for context. A clanmate should be able to tell whether a substitution is welcome without guessing.

Set the request before writing the message

Supercell’s donation guide explains that you can specify troops, spells and siege machines in a reinforcement request. If you leave the selection unspecified, donors can choose what to send. Check your selected units before relying on a message that asks for a particular composition.

The highest-level option limits the selected units to the highest level you can receive, as described in the game and support guide. That can reduce the number of clanmates able to fill a request. Decide whether the level matters for this attack before turning it on.

If the request cannot be filled, check space, eligibility and the selected levels. Asking repeatedly with the same settings will not change which units a donor can provide. Read the actual request state before assuming that other players ignored it.

Copy a clear request

Edit this worksheet, then select and copy your notes. Changes stay on this page and are lost when you reload. Do not enter account credentials.

For example: "War attack around 20:00 UTC. Units selected. Please keep the spell request exact; ask before substituting the siege." This is a hypothetical message format, not a recommended army. Use the troops and spells that belong to your actual plan.

Request early enough for someone to respond during normal play. If you need a rare combination for a scheduled attack, check donor availability first. A request sent moments before the deadline leaves little time to correct a mismatch or find another available donor.

Share coverage without assigning endless duty

This is a sample schedule; fill only the windows your clan actually needs. Ask volunteers to choose realistic slots. An agreed window is more useful than assuming that the highest-level account is always available. Give the backup a way to know when help is needed.

Offensive reinforcements and defending War Base donations are separate in Supercell’s rules. Label the scope of a coverage row so a player filling one does not assume the other is done. Before marking a task complete, check the corresponding screen in the game.

Troubleshoot an empty or invisible request

Supercell documents a setting that hides requests you cannot contribute to. If a donor cannot see a request, check the relevant-request filter and the requested unit eligibility. The guide also notes that turning the filter off does not restore a request that has already disappeared while it was enabled.

When a request is visible but cannot be opened or filled, inspect the reserved space and selected units. Send a short explanation to the requester, such as "I can supply the troop but not the selected level." That gives them a decision: wait, change the selection, or ask another donor.

For recurring delays, record the time requested, the time filled and the missing unit type for a few planned attacks. Use the pattern to adjust coverage. Avoid judging a member from a donation total alone; timing, request eligibility and the clan’s division of responsibilities affect what they can contribute. Keep the target plan updated if a missing reinforcement changes the attack time.

Quick questions

Can this page request or donate troops?

No. Make requests and donations in the game. This worksheet helps write the message and arrange availability.

Should every request demand the highest possible level?

Use that setting when your plan needs it. It can prevent otherwise willing clanmates from filling the selected units.
